Imo Govt. Suspends Journalist Indefinitely For Posting On Facebook To  Beg For Salary Payment


Imo State  Governor,  Mr. Hope Uzodimma has suspended  a woman journalist indefinitely for begging the State Government to pay their salaries on Facebook.

A nursing mother identified as Barr. Mrs. Vivian Ottih working with the state owned radio station,  Imo Broadcasting Corporation ( IBC) was sent home because she displayed  her displeasure over non payment of salary by state government since February 2020.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner for Information Mr. Declan Emelumba mandated the management of IBC to sack the woman journalist for coming publicly to expressed her grievances about the state government.


SalientReporters gathered that  Mrs. Vivian who happens to be the state Chairperson of Female Journalists in Imo State just delivered a baby few weeks ago and  has worked with the the state owned radio corporation for over 20 years rising to the rank of a senior editor.
