'May 8': FEDPOFFA Rector Commends Alumni Association For Donating Face Masks To  Host Communities

The Federal Polytechnic Offa Rector,  Dr. Lateef Olatunji has commended the  kind gesture of Fedpoffa Alumni Association for deeming it fit to donate face masks to communities as well as the institution to curtail the further spread of Coronavirus.

The face masks were presented to the Rector on Friday, 8 of May 2020 to commemorate  the student activists who lost their lives to gory crisis in year 2000.

Receiving the donated items, Dr. Olatunji appreciates the Alumni Association for being thoughtful, as such gifts are more important in this trying time. “We are grateful to the executives of the Alumni Association of our great institution for this project. In addition to what the Management has done in terms of donations to our host communities, we are happy that the Alumni has also commemorated our efforts by donating more face masks. What you have done today will be on record and will be much remembered in the future that you also contributed your own quota to this course. We are proud of the Alumni Association at large,” he said.

Earlier, the Alumni Association had an Online Public Lecture with the theme: 'Concept and Context of May 8: The Quest for Sustainable Peace' as part of the activities to mark the event and on behalf of the Association, Mr. Kazeem Efficacy, an alumnus and former SUG president (2007), acknowledged the goodwill of Dr. Olatunji's led administration towards the association and assured the Management of continuous collaborations for sustainable peace and unity among students and host communities.
