Two Persons Died As Granite Truck, Motorcycle Collide In Ogun

Two persons died instantly and one injured after a granite-laden truck crushed them in an accident.

On Monday the accident occurred on Oju-Ore-Idi-Iroko Road around the Winners axis, in  Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed that the accident involved three persons, a truck with registration number XA977JBD and a motorcycle with no registration number.

Akinbiyi, in a statement said that a motorcyclist who was inbound Ojuore, Ota, from Iyana-Iyesi caused the accident.

He disclosed that the motorcyclist rode against traffic while trying to manoeuver his way in the gridlock when the truck rammed into them.

However, the motorcyclist and one of the persons riding with him died on the spot and the other passenger was taken to the hospital.

Adebiyi stated that the body of the two victims had been deposited at the morgue of Ifo General Hospital, while the driver of the truck, as well as the motorcycle have been taken to the Onipanu Divisional Police Station, Ota.”
